As promised in yesterday's post .... a few more photos with more to come tomorrow ... As you can see, I re-visited a few old friends just for the enjoyment I get out of painting these dark background subjects.
These are exquisite Paul. I especially appreciate the little drama suggested by the pear & glass standing dangerously on the edge of a (table?). Great northern moody palette too!
I agree with Pierre about the drama of the impending tumble off the edge. But I keep coming back to that haunting reflection in the glass, and the shape echoed again on the left of the glass. This is so perfectly balanced in so many ways. A koan.
